The top price of unleaded regular (self-serve) gasoline was up two cents to $4.11/9 Wednesday, July 27, at four of the seven stations we monitor on Route 44 in New Hartford, Canton, Simsbury and Avon.

When July began, the highest price of unleaded regular (self-serve) at these seven stations was $3.91/9  per gallon. The $4.11/9 price reflects an increase of about 5 percent.

When July began, the highest price of unleaded regular (self-serve) gasoline at the seven stations we monitor on Route 44 was $3.91/9 per gallon. On Saturday, July 16, after another 2-cent increase, the top price was $4.07/9.

The rapid climb we’ve seen this month began on July 4, so the total increase of 16 cents per gallon occurred over 13 days.

A reminder: The highest price we saw in the price run-up this spring was $4.35/9, as recently as May 11.

The four-cent per gallon increase on Friday at the five stations we monitor on Route 44 in Canton, Simsbury and Avon put the price at $4.01/9, 10 cents a gallon more than it was on Sunday, July 3.

The price was last above $4 a gallon at any of the seven stations we monitor on June 24.

The price of unleaded regular (self-serve) gasoline was up again on Wednesday, July 6, the second price increase in three days.

The four-cent per gallon increase on the Fourth of July was followed by a two-cent increase on Wednesday, putting the price at the five stations we monitor on Route 44 in Canton, Simsbury and Avon at $3.97/9.

The prices we saw at the two stations we watch in New Hartford were unchanged. Here are the numbers we spotted about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The price of unleaded regular (self-serve) gasoline increased on Monday, July 4, at four of the five stations we monitor on Route 44 in Canton, Simsbury and Avon. A fifth station in that group was closed.

After declining to $3.91/9 on Tuesday, June 28, the price increased 4 cents a gallon at the four stations to $3.95/9. The change put some space between the prices at these four stations and the two we watch in New Hartford, where the cost is now 9 cents and 10 cents a gallon less.
