Beaver: 4 months old.

Beaver, a 4-month-old male, had a bad abscess on his back when he was rescued along with his mother. Both have visited the vet and are now in excellent health and looking for homes.

Mom and Beaver both love to be held and petted. If you are interested in adopting either, call Animal Friends of Connecticut at 860-827-0381 to set up a meeting.

Marty Needs A Home

Marty: 1 year old.

Marty is a year-old cat that we believe was abandoned by his owner. He is so friendly, and he loves to be held and petted: It’s obvious he was someone’s pet.

Marty was hanging out at Taco Bell when one of their customers rescued him and called us to take him in. He is very healthy, has all of his shots and is ready to go to his forever home. If you would like to adopt Marty, please call Animal Friends of Connecticut at 860-827-0381 for an interview.

Rain & Barney Need A Home

Rain and Barney, 10 weeks old.

Available for adoption this week are two kittens named Rain (a female) and her brother Barney (male). They are 10 weeks old and the last of their litter.

As their siblings were being adopted, Rain and Barney became more and more attached to each other. They always make sure they are in each others sight. They have bonded completely, so it would be great if they could be adopted together.

They are very friendly, love attention and are typically playful kittens. If interested, call Animal Friends of Connecticut at 860-827-0381. Other pets available for adoption can be found at the Animal Friends’ website.

Romeo, Juliet Need A Home

Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet are 8-week-old puppies who had a rough start in life. They were rescued after being thrown out a car window at a Route 84 rest stop. A woman trucker parked at the stop saw the abandonment and came to their aid. The trucker is a cross-country driver who travels with her two dogs and three cats in the truck at all times, so she is definitely an animal lover.

The driver contacted Animal Friends of Connecticut to come and take the puppies. The two dogs are very friendly and love to be with people. They will grow to be medium size as adults. It is our hope that they will be adopted together as they have bonded so well and been through so much together, but it is possible that they could be adopted separately.

To schedule an interview and a meeting with Romeo and Juliet, please call Animal Friends of Connecticut at 860-827-0381.

Betsy Needs A Home

Betsy: about 18 months old.

Neighborhood residents recognized Betsy, who was on the streets and pregnant, but the person they said was her owner disavowed any knowledge of the black cat.

Betsy, who is about 18 months old, gave birth shortly after she was surrendered to Animal Friends of Connecticut. All of her kittens have been adopted into forever homes, and now Betsy is looking for a home of her own.

She’s very friendly and very vocal, and is current in all her vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting Betsy, please call Animal Friends of Connecticut at 860-827-0381 to schedule an appointment to meet her.

Animal Friends of Connecticut had a successful benefit last month at Flatbread Co. in Canton, raising money for the rescue and care of abused and abandoned animals. If you are interested in helping with the benefit next spring, please call 860-232-1393 and let us know your area of interest. Collecting donations for the silent auction is the major task at hand at this time.
