Artist’s Work In Calendar

Collinsville Savings Society / by Jim Koplar.

Canton artist Jim Koplar and Gallery 101 Main are out with a 12-month, 2011 wall calendar that features images of Collinsville and beyond.

All of the images are reproductions of original Koplar pastels. Nine of the 12 originals remain available through Gallery 101 Main, according to Koplar, and giclee prints of all of the images in the calendar are available through the gallery.

Readers of dotCANTON.com will recognize the calendar cover, which is a photo of the Collinsville “postcard” Koplar and several of his students created with chalk in the town hall parking lot on Aug. 21 as part of Downright Music & Art’s “Community Unity Day.” Check out the completed image in the gallery of this dotCANTON.com post.

Images in the calendar include scenes from the Farmington River, the Collins Co., the Collinsville Savings Society building on Main Street, the Canton Veterans Memorial on Bridge Street, the converted train station that now houses Crown & Hammer Restaurant & Pub, LaSalle Market & Deli and the Gallery on the Green.

The calendar, which measures 11 inches by 17 inches when opened, sells for $15 and can be purchased from Koplar or at Gallery 101 Main.

Koplar is at Gallery 101 Main every Wednesday night to assist individuals with their art. The “Art Jam” sessions, which run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., cost $10.
