Details Set In Giveaway

The final list is in on Collinsville retailers who will be participating in a gift certificate giveaway Saturday, Sept. 25, during Sam Collins Day festivities. And there’s good news: Now there will be two prizes, one gift certificate worth $100 and another worth $50.

Here’s how it will work, according to Doug Tubach of Gallery 101 Main. If you want to join in, stop into a participating retainer and pick up an entry form/map. Then visit and have the map stamped by at least six of the participating retailers.

The entry form may then be turned in at any of the 15 retail locations. Entry forms will be collected from the retailers around 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. The winners will be drawn at 4 p.m. at the Canton Historical Museum. You need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by e-mail or telephone.

The winners may redeem their gift certificate at one (only one) of the participating merchants. Certificates may not be redeemed for cash, and no change will be given. Certificates must be redeemed by Dec. 24, 2010.

Here’s the list of the 15 participating retailers:

Gallery 101 Main LLC; Carol & Company; The Village Sweet Shoppe; the Center Spirit Shoppe; Husk — New American Tacos; Downright Music & Art; Rootz Organic Hair Salon; LaSalle Market & Deli; Antiques on the Farmington; Blumen Laden; Lola & Me; the Canton Historical Museum; D.A.N.C.E. by Kristin; Collinsville Canoe & Kayak; and the Connecticut School of Jewelry Art.

Of course, the activity in Collinsville on Saturday is only half of the Sam Collins Day story. Plenty will be going at the Canton Volunteer Fire Co. Field on Canton Springs Road. Transportation between Collinsville and the field should be easy, with shuttle buses running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 26, but the Saturday forecast currently calls for sunny skies and a high temperature of about 80 degrees.
