Owner Peter Roth is moving Treehouse Art & Antiques to New Hartford, ending a stay of slightly more than two years in Canton Village.
“I had my second anniversary on the Fourth of July weekend,” he said Sunday, Aug. 15.
The relocation will occur by the end of August, Roth said, with Treehouse moving into space at 202 Main St. (Route 44) in New Hartford, just steps away from a separate space that’s home to Pooch Palace Spa & Salon, a recent addition to that site, itself.
According to Roth, the rent and floor space in New Hartford is “about the same” as in Canton, but he said the New Hartford location also provides modest living accommodations, and he plans to move in. He currently lives in Avon.
“I’ll be living and working at the same location, which I’m kind of psyched about,” Roth said.
The “art and antiques” business is relatively new to Roth, who said he was a kitchen and bath designer for 32 years before making the switch.
“It’s been a tough two years, but I’ve survived it,” Roth said. “I think (the New Hartford) location will be a good thing. It’s in a funky-ish old building, so I think it will have a different feel than driving into a plaza.”
Treehouse will continue to be open seven days a week in New Hartford, Roth said.
