Summer’s here, and each year that means two things for certain in town: hot weather, and a drive by The Friends of the Canton Public Library to collect books and other items for their September book sale.
This year’s two-day event is scheduled for Sept. 11 and 12 at the Canton Community Center.
Books can be dropped off at the library from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The deadline for dropping off books, CDs, DVDs and recorded books is Aug. 27.
The Friends are seeking volunteers for pre-sale sorting and other responsibilities. Anyone interested in helping out should call 860-693-5800 and leave a message for Carol Stevens, co-chairwoman of the book sale.
